There have been many lovely things happening over the last few months

With The Kist and I am continuing on the great journey by planning a tour for next year and also writing more songs with some great song writers.

I was in Nashville Tennessee writing in May with amazing singer songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman with whom I co-wrote the actual song ‘The Kist’.

Nashville has to be one of the best places on the planet to visit and to work. All that natural creativity in one place is brilliant. I came home with a great new song to add to The Kist songbook and a real zest for life and a spring in my step. The plan is to release a new Kist Songbook album later this year.

I also met up with Grammy Award winning singer songwriter Marcus Hummon who came over to Edinburgh to perform in The Kist with us at The Edinburgh Fringe. He has a rare talent and is very inspirational in many ways. Actually his whole family is rather extraordinary. Marcus’ wife Becca is the founder of a charity called Thistle Farms www.thistlefarms.org check it out. She also the Chaplain at Vanderbilt University and one of the finest speakers I have ever heard in my life… without glancing at a note! She’s some lady!

I have a very exciting week coming up. On the 1st July I am going to the Palace of Holyroodhouse to be presented with an OBE for services to music and charity. I couldn’t be more thrilled and so very happy that my husband and family will all be there with me to celebrate.
