Robbie Shepherd Take the Floor on the 29th June BBC Radio Scotland

Robbie Shepherd and his radio producer Jennifer Cruikshank very kindly invited me to go into Radio Scotland in Aberdeen to be interviewed for his ‘Take the Floor’ show which can be heard this Sunday and on BBC IPlayer.

Robbie is a national treasure and a true gentleman. His wonderful, warm way of presenting radio shows over the years has brought great joy to many folk, not just in Scotland, but around the world. He really knows how to put people at ease and has such knowledge of our Scottish culture. His distinctive Doric tongue is glorious.

Funnily enough he told me that his first job as an accountant was with my father in law, the late Dr Francis Clark at Claben, in the good old days of the fishing industry. Quite coincidentally, his first performing job was with my father Calum Kennedy at the Tivoli Theatre in Aberdeen which my Dad owned in the 1960″s. Pretty amazing!

Anyway have a listen to Robbie’s show. I was asked to choose 3 tracks for the programme. I won’t say what they are, you’ll have to tune in!
